Welcome to the New Bike Wisconsin® Blog!

Things at Bike Wisconsin have always been pretty crazy and we've always wanted to have a blog that would show the biking world the latest happenings at Bike Wisconsin®.  We'll be posting what is going on around here and what we're currently working on (which means previews of the routes and overnights for next year).

Our focus next year is to get the rider numbers up and to get more younger riders to experience the exhilaration and accomplishment of a week-long bicycle tour.  We have amazing backroads in Wisconsin and everyone should experience the farmland, lakeshore and hills in the Dairy State.

So we have a ton of work to do for next summer...

Ode to a Bicycle

Hello Bicycling World!

My name is Joanna Gellerman and I'm the Social Director for Bike Wisconsin.  This is my first blog post on the new Bike Wisconsin Blog, and I wanted to give an Ode to a Bicycle:

We all started out on tricycles
and then we moved to bicycles
starting with training wheels
and falling over the handlebars following our heels

But then we learn how to ride
and we spend hours exploring the countryside
or commuting around the city
following paths that are ever so pretty

As we're whizzing by
our thoughts are either calm or flying high
we meet new people that are fellow bikers too
as we down the water and energy goo

Burning the calories is always a plus
and we always make our destination our bust
Going by ourselves or with our friends
there's a new adventure around every bend
